A South Korean black comedy thrilling film, Parasite, directed by the most astonishing director Bong Joon Ho in 2019. The film got the World Premier in the 2019 Cannes Festival on 21st May 2019, Toronto International Film Festival and New York Film Festival. It was showcased in theatres on October 11, 2019.
As the word Parasite itself defines something that happens by depending on the other. The film portrays the story of how an unemployed family takes an interest in wealth and luxurious living until they faced an unexpected incident.
Kim’s family was the poor one who folds pizza boxes for a delivery company to earn some cash as they were at the edge of poverty. They were so poor that one day his friend suggested he be a
college passed English tutor of the rich Mrs. Park’s daughter Park Da-Hye. From then he managed to get all his family members in that mansion as employees one by one. Although they had to leave the mansion after something big happened in which they lost their daughter Ki-Joeng in an unexpected accident. Here Ki-woo decided to become rich enough to buy a house for them.
The film is being centered on two family’s symbiotic relationships – one is extremely rich and the other is poor and deceitful. The parasite has hit the Korean box office and even hitting the
international cinematic world. Bong Joon Ho became the first-ever director to be honored by the Palme d’ award the Cannes Festival.
