Money Heist is the most watched non-English series in Netflix history. The Spanish series, La Casa de papel “The House of Paper”, follows the lives and deaths a gang of intelligent robbers as they rob the biggest banking infrastructures in Spain. Money Heist is the brainchild of Alex Pina, and a crime drama, thriller genre. The opening theme is titled “My Life is Going On” by Cecilia Krull. Other music composers include Ivan Martinez Lacamara and Manel Santisteban.
The executive producers of the series include Álex Pina, Sonia Martínez, Jesús Colmenar, Esther Martínez Lobato, and Nacho Manubens.
A significant part of the series was shot in Madrid, Spain. However, other major portions of the series were shot Panama, Thailand and Italy. The series was shot by Migue Amoedo with a couple of episodes done by David Azcano, Mike Valentine and Sergi Bartorli. The film editing for Money Heist was done by Luis Miguel Gonzalez Bedmar, along with a team of other editors. Money Heist was shot in a single-camera set up.
The series had earlier run from the 2nd of May, 2017 through 23rd of November, 2017 on the Spanish Antena 3. However, Netflix later acquired the right to stream the series to a global audience in late 2017 and released the first part on the 20th of December, 2017. The series was created under Atresmedia and Vancouver media production companies. The series is still ongoing with 2 seasons, each divided into 2 parts (making 4 in total) and 31 episodes already completed. La Casa de papel has enjoyed wide reception and acclamation with 30 awards nominations, winning 23 of them, including the 46th International Emmy Awards for the best drama series.

Led by a super-genius man called “The Professor”, a group of 8 robbers set out to execute the most ambitious money heist in the history of Spain. In the first two parts of the series, the gang breaks into the Royal Mint of Spain and gets away with €2.4 billion. With 67 hostages and a master plan, the gang remained inside the mint, printing money for themselves for 11 days.
In the ongoing part, the gang is forced out of hiding, and on a new heist. This time, they break into the Federal Bank of Spain as they deal with more complex situations.
