Smallville is the story of the superman character with a blend of action, realism, and emotions. The series was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on the popular DC Comics character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The music for the series was created by Mark Snow and Louis Febre. The opening theme “Save Me” was composed by Remy Zero. The executive producers of the series include Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, Michael Tollin, Brian Robbins, Joe Davola, Ken Horton, Greg Beeman, James Marshall, Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, Kelly Souders, Brian Peterson, and Tom Welling.

Smallville first premiered on the 16th of October, 2001 and ran through 13th of May, 2011. The series had a total of 10 seasons and 217 episodes. Each episode had a 42 minutes running time. The series was produced under Tollin/Robbins Productions, Milar Gough Ink, Warner Bros. Television, DC Comics and DC Entertainment banner. It was initially broadcasted on The WB. There are a number of movies out there with stories of the man of steel. But Smallville focuses on Clark Kent (Tom Welling), a young teenage boy who is trying to fit in and find his place in the world. It highlights his struggles and triumphs, how he learned to control his powers and become the man of steel we all know. He also deals with typical teenage issues, played high school football and fell in love with the beautiful Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk).
The 5th season trails his adulthood and career. This is marked by the introduction of the Louis Lane character in the story line.
It is a good show for those interested in following the growth of the man of steel.
